Caterina and Domenico Capua enter in Reggio Calabria (south of Italy), a citrus industry for essential oil extraction.

The company refines its expertise in essential oil extraction from citrus, becoming one of the main supplier to the world famous Parisian perfumery.

The company is severely impacted by the devastating Strait of Messina earthquake, in which among of thousands of citizens, even both Capua spouses lose their lives.

Vincenzo Capua, the son of Caterina and Domenico, rebuilds the factory and relaunches the oil extraction business from citrus, founding the company “Giovanni Capua, formerly Domenico Capua”.

The third generation, led by Giovanni and Domenico Capua (father and uncle of Fabrizio Capua), rebuilds and revives the family business after the devastation of the Second World War. The company mainly focus to citrus concentrates and juices.

Thanks to the fast growing results, Giovanni and Domenico opened a new modern factory, in Salice (Reggio Calabria), to produce orange concentrate for The Coca-Cola Company that was introducing Fanta to the world — an Italian-created orange-juice drink destined for global fame.

“Aranca” fresh orange juice is launched, offered in both cartons and cans. Its innovative packaging and high quality, quickly make it a consumer success.

Domenico Capua focuses on the production of essential oils, while his brother Giovanni expands the beverages business by acquiring 100% of SOCIB S.p.A., the bottling and distribution company for The Coca-Cola Company products in Calabria and Basilicata.

Giovanni Capua establishes PRAGMA S.r.l., the family holding company into which all shares of SOCIB S.p.A. are consolidated.

SOCIB S.p.A. acquires a 45% stake in SICON S.r.l. – Società Italiana Contenitori – a company specializing in the design and production of preforms used to manufacture PET bottles.

SOCIB S.p.A. acquires 100% ownership of SOSIB S.r.l., a bottling company producing and distributing The Coca-Cola Company products in Sardinia.

SOCIB S.p.A. acquires 50% ownership of SNIBEG, a bottling company producing and distributing The Coca-Cola Company products in Campania region.

Giovanni Capua tragically passes away. The leadership of the companies and the entrepreneurial vision of the SOCIB Group are entrusted by the family to Fabrizio Capua.

SOCIB S.p.A. acquires the remaining 50% of SNIBEG and takes full ownership of SOBIB, the bottling company producing The Coca-Cola Company beverages for the Apulia region.

“CAPUA GROUP S.p.A.” is established, bringing together all the shareholdings in the family’s bottling companies under a single entity.

Capua Group becomes the second largest The Coca-Cola Company bottler in Italy by size and revenue, with 600 employees and 12 production lines.

PRAGMA, the family holding owning 100% of Capua Group, is sold to Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company. Fabrizio Capua is appointed Chairman of the AngloGreek Group, a position he would hold for the next nine years.

Fabrizio Capua establishes CAPUA INVESTMENTS with a clear mission: to acquire and partner with small and medium sized enterprises, guiding them through generational transitions and driving their turnaround, growth, or business diversification.

CAPUA INVESTMENTS enters the fastgrowing coffee market with the acquisition of CAFFÈ MAURO SpA, one of Italy’s oldest and most renowned coffee roasters.

CAPUA PROPERTY is established as a wholly owned subsidiary of CAPUA INVESTMENTS, with a dual mission: to acquire and revitalise prestigious venues and historic businesses, and to develop modern, high‑value real estate projects.

Capua Property acquires the historic Bar del Porto in Porto Ercole, Tuscany, which had lost much of its former charm. Following a significant aesthetic and organisational transformation, it is restored to the glamour and prestige of its 1960s heyday.

Following a strategic brand repositioning and a full reorganisation of its sales network in both domestic and international markets, Capua Investments completes the transfer of Caffè Mauro SpA to the prestigious Gimoka Group — a global leader in the hot beverage industry. This marks the first strategic business combination in the Italian coffee sector.

Capua Property launches a modern and technologically advanced residential complex in Reggio Calabria, on the very site that hosted Caffè Mauro’s headquarters and production plant between 1952 and 1997. To honour one of the city’s most renowned and prestigious brands, the project is named Parco Caffè.
